Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the business arrangement entered into between Moving Men Removals Pty Ltd (“Moving Men”) trading as both “Eco Boxes for hire” and “Moving Men Removals Pty Ltd”, ABN 25 609 980 136, and yourself (“Hirer”) in respect to the hire of Eco Boxes and moving equipment (“Equipment”).

It is understood that by booking Eco Boxes for Hire from Moving Men that you have read and agreed to abide by these terms and conditions.

1. About Moving Men

Moving Men provide Eco Boxes and moving equipment for hire. Moving Men will also supply a chalk pen to be used for labelling of the Eco Boxes if required. Please also return chalk pens.

In addition to this, Moving Men can also provide packing and moving services which must be booked separately.

​

2. Ownership

All item(s) and equipment hired by the hirer is, and will remain, in the complete and sole ownership of the supplier Moving Men.  No item(s) or equipment can be transferred, offered for sale or hired, or sold in any circumstances from the hirer.

3. Hire Terms and Conditions

All equipment hire must be booked online and must be paid upfront prior to any pick up or delivery.

​

The Hirer must sign off on the Terms and Conditions – Eco Box Hire at the time of pick up / delivery.

​

Moving Men also reserves the right to verify ID with a valid driver’s licence or passport at the time of pick up / delivery to ensure the security of any equipment hired by the hirer.

​

Eco Boxes can be picked up at our warehouse at 71 Weston Street, Brunswick VIC 3056 by appointment. If you pick up you will also need to drop off the boxes.

​

We offer free delivery and collection for Brunswick addresses which includes Brunswick West 2055, Brunswick VIC 3056 and Brunswick East VIC 3057. We deliver and collect boxes within 10kms of our Brunswick depot which incurs a fee of $10 per delivery and collection. If you wish to hire moving boxes but are outside of the 10kms or are a customer of Moving Men please get in touch.

We will contact you to confirm your delivery / collection times and will aim to deliver or collect on your preferred date. Delivery / Collection will be Monday to Friday during business hours. Alternative arrangements may need to be made where this is not possible, and we will work with you to arrange a mutually suitable time.

We will also contact you 1-2 days before the rental period is over to confirm drop off / collection times.  

​

All equipment must be returned or ready for pick up at the end of the hire period. Please place the chalk pen in the top Eco Box so we can reuse it. Any equipment not returned or ready for pick up at the end of the hire period will incur additional hire charges.

​

Extension of hire dates can be made prior to collection by agreement and must be confirmed by Moving Men.

​

We reserve the right to modify or cancel equipment hire where the delivery addresses are greater that 10kms from our Brunswick warehouse. We also reserve the right to cancel your equipment hire where we are unable to supply the full quantity of boxes ordered. In both instances we will contact you to discuss options and will issue a partial or full refund where appropriate.

4. Refundable Deposit

We take a deposit of $50 on each order. This is to cover us in circumstances where boxes go missing or are damaged, or if we must do a deep clean.

If a box is damaged or missing you will be charged $35 per box. If the boxes require excessive cleaning you will be charged a cleaning fee of $25. These amounts will firstly be deducted from the deposit. If the deposit is insufficient we will invoice you the balance.

We will refund you the full deposit within 2 business days if all the boxes come back with no damage and in a clean condition.

​

5. Loss and Damage

All equipment is the responsibility of the hirer during the hire period.

If any of the equipment is lost, damaged or stolen during the hire period the hirer will be liable.

​

This is including, but not limited to, situations where equipment can be lost or damaged such as:

  • Equipment lost by hirer or external removalists

  • Equipment dropped by hirer or external removalists causing damage

  • Equipment stolen from outside properties

  • Use of stickers or permanent markers on Equipment. Please use the chalk pens provided.

Any equipment lost or damaged will incur a fee of $35 inclusive per box as a replacement cost.

​

We recommend that you count and check each box upon delivery, during transportation and at the completion of your move. The hirer must notify Moving Men of any missing or damaged boxes within 24 hours. If Moving Men are not notified of any issues, we will have deemed that the hirer accepts the equipment as suitable.

​

All equipment must be returned empty, clean, dry and free from labels, rubbish or debris. All chalk pen writing must be wiped off the outside of the boxes.

We understand that there will be normal wear and tear in the use of the equipment.

6. Liability

Upon delivery, all liabilities concerning equipment will pass to the hirer. The hirer accepts full responsibilities and shall keep the supplier indemnified against all liability. Insurance of all hired equipment is the responsibility of the hirer. The hirer accepts full responsibility for the safe keeping of all equipment hired.

7. Warranty

The supplier will provide all equipment in a clean, working order upon delivery to the hirer. No warranty is provided on any equipment hired or brought by the hirer. The hirer shall indemnify the supplier in respect of all claims arising out of the use of any equipment hired.
